Parakeelya Land Management is an Aboriginal enterprise with offices in Broken Hill, Port Augusta and Adelaide CBD. Our business focuses on complete land management solutions for agriculture, mining and government.

Our core aim is to have a professional, respected and competitive Aboriginal business that focuses on the employment and development of Aboriginal people, with a priority around reducing recidivism.

Pest and feral animal control

Across the Far West NSW region the land economy is based on grazing, dryland agriculture and irrigated agriculture. The region has significant issues with feral animals and pest weeds which impact the productivity, profitability and effective management of land — and feral animals can spread endemic parasites and diseases.

Parakeelya Land Management provides a regional service in pest weed and feral animal control, with an emphasis on trapping, monitoring and eradication.

Consulting and community engagement

Parakeelya provides consultancy in community consultation, Aboriginal business development, financial management and socio-development. Our consultants have a comprehensive range of skills and practical experience in developing, implementing and managing programs.

Labour hire and workforce management

• Skills training, mentoring and support so our workforce is work-ready, managed by experienced supervisors
• Remote-area labour hire, with links to a number of remote communities
• Experience mobilising and supporting staff for short or long term projects

The Ringer Project

Stockmen who worked for extended periods on the land and on horseback hold considerable untapped knowledge of cultural heritage sites in remote areas. Parakeelya works with retired Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal stockmen to identify sites and record experiences, building relationships with pastoralists to identify and protect locations of cultural significance.
